Pantone has declared #17-1463 Tangerine Tango the color of the year. The Spring 2012 runways have already used it across the board, from its most vibrant to its palest form.
As a reddish-orange, it carries more depth, and with that comes a chic sophistication. Borrowing red’s drama and sensuality, it gives off a slow-burning warmth. A subtle exoticism is added by the orange hues. It pairs well with warm tones or neutrals, and can even be set against cool colors for sharp contrast.
Use it to energize your home décor; bring in Tangerine Tango-hued accessories for a vibrant burst of color. Take it outside on your mailbox or garden accents to help liven up the tulips. Pale it down for more overall usage such as on a wall in the hallway, or the entirety of a large, high-ceiling room for a sunset effect.
