Green Envy: Color Trend for Winter 2018

Winter 2018 is the time to go green. Bright, lively shades of chartreuse and lime might shout spring and summer vibes, but here at the Front Door, we are excited to use darker, romantic emeralds and ivies in our home’s color scheme for the holiday season. We are green with envy at the spaces that incorporate this trend, while totally staying on-point with elegant and refined styling. Here are three ways to decorate with this beautiful color.

Choose velvety upholstery and accents.

Make sure your furniture feels luxurious. Velvety fabric curtains, throw pillows, upholstered accent chairs, ottomans, and headboards in dark emerald and other wintery greens are a great way to incorporate this color without being too distracting in the home. In The Showroom @Furniture Row, our designers use the Cricket Accent Chair to make a style statement. The green Micro Velvet Pillow is also a great accent on a sofa or bed if you already have a preferred furnishing of choice.

Pair with gold accents.

Nothing goes better with green than gold does. While bright crimson paired with emerald might remind us of Christmastime, gold paired with various shades of green looks stunning no matter what season. Gold accents such as end tables, mirrors, trays, lamps, and other small items will embellish any space and brighten the darker hunter greens and forested shades for a trendy design statement. The Linden End Table from Furniture Row is a great gold accent at your sofa side, and the Facet Accent Lamp adds a glam attitude to your nightstand.

Use decorative black-and-white patterning.

Last but not least, nothing looks festive like an eye-catching pattern. Black-and-white vinyl flooring adds old-fashioned charm to your space, but a black-and-white geometric rug or accent chair will also do the trick. The Magnolia Home Lotus Black Rug looks chic paired with emerald green.

No matter what style your room is, there’s a dark shade of green for you. Experiment with this unique color trend this holiday season.
