Livable Modern Interior Inspiration at the Denver St. Jude Dream Home

The St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway is here again!

In spite of all of the challenges during this difficult time, the 2020 Denver St. Jude Dream Home has been completed and the $100 raffle tickets for a chance to win the Dream Home Giveaway are on sale now

For those who don’t know, the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway community service project benefits the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, one of the world’s premier pediatric cancer research centers. The patients of St. Jude say that this incredible hospital makes them feel more at home as they undergo treatment and recovery, and the Dream Home Giveaway helps to make sure their stay is as comfortable as possible. Ticket sales from this event help to make sure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food. In its 29th year, the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway has built over 500 homes nationwide, raising over $450 million dollars! With such an amazing track record, the people at St. Jude and all of the businesses involved wanted to do everything in their power to make the 2020 Denver Dream Home Giveaway in Green Valley Ranch East a reality, no matter what challenges might stand in the way.

Denver St. Jude Dream Home Under Construction

Completing the Dream Home and coordinating the Giveaway this year has been a little different, to say the least. In years past, once the Denver Dream Home was completed and styled with furniture from Furniture Row, it was then opened to the public for a few months of weekend open houses before being given away to the lucky winner. This year, that process has been met with difficulties due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Although construction of the home is finished, the home won’t be staged or opened to the public in the interest of public safety. It’s unfortunate, but this setback wasn’t going to stop Furniture Row Designer, Barbara Chandler, from coming up with a beautiful design that people can fall in love with and get inspired by. Usually, Barbara has been able to step inside the house to see the layout and finishes for herself before she fills it with fashionable furniture finds. This year, she had to do much of the work from home, eyeing floor plans, photos, color schemes, and products virtually. But it was in this challenge that Barbara found inspiration.

Tour the Home and Create Your Own Dream Home Style

People the world over have been overcoming hardship in recent months, and many are now working from home. This shift in our way of living has made many people take a second look at their furniture as they realize what works for them and what doesn’t. People understand now more than ever what makes them happy and comfortable in their homes. As Barbara puts it:

Many people are staying home or spending more time at home, in an effort to help slow the spread of covid19. Many of us may be looking around our home thinking “I want a new sofa or a new bed,” or ‘”really just want an update.” Perhaps people who are now working from home need an actual home office or a cozy office chair.

Our home is a place of comfort, safety, and happiness, now more than ever. Building happiness is exactly what Oakwood Homes did for this St. Dream Home here in Denver. I LOVE the finishes and layout of this home, and I wanted to create a look that is happy, lively, and livable. So, the feel of this year’s St. Jude Dream Home furniture is livable and modern with “twists” of fun retro style.

If you are on the fence about new home furnishings, my advice is to go ahead and make the changes that will make you comfortable and happy.
